Critical Incident Stress Management Team

The Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) team was formed in 1989. The mission of the Nebraska Statewide CISM system is to provide immediate crisis intervention services to emergency response, hospital and correctional personnel throughout Nebraska.

It is not the function of the program to replace neither ongoing professional counseling nor psychotherapy. Through innovation and cooperation, the team strives to promote and maintain the spirit of teamwork that is the tradition of the interagency council.

CISM is a joint effort between the Nebraska State Fire Marshal, Nebraska State Patrol, Nebraska Emergency Management Agency, and Health and Human Services EMS Section.
